ECU Communications, LLC

ECU CommunicationsECU Communications, LLC (ECU) is a forward-thinking Northern Virginia marketing firm with a keen understanding of audience-driven multicultural communication.  Providing an array of modern approaches to communication,  ECU provides integrated marketing,  advertising,  creative,  Web and interactive,  and multicultural services.  Founded in 2004 with the mission to offer innovative solutions and maximum value to its clients,  ECU has consistently done so with creativity,  quality,  and integrity.  ECU excels at crafting focused and culturally appropriate messages that positively influence diverse audiences by creating and utilizing targeted content,  language,  visuals,  and modern media.  By listening carefully to clients’ needs and goals,  considering the context and behaviors of their multicultural target audiences,  and developing messages and products that speak directly to them,  ECU really “gets you there.”

ECU’s founder and president,  Jacqueline (Jackie) Krick is an expert in integrated marketing communications with a hands-on approach to working with her clients.  She has dedicated her career of more than 20 years to marketing,  advertising,  strategic planning,  and management.  Fluent in English and Spanish,  Jackie has led outreach and recruitment programs for Hispanic and Asian audiences,  managed teams that develop educational products,  and led projects for several Federal Government agencies.  Jackie is also an active member of the local business community.  Since 2008,  she has held the position of Vice President of the Northern Virginia region and the Fairfax County Chapter of the Mid-Atlantic Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  In the past,  she has chaired the Hispanic Business Council at the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce and advised the Hispanic Advisory Board for Congressman Frank Wolf (VA-10).  Her deep personal and professional ties to the local and Hispanic business communities have allowed Jackie significant insight into the needs of other small and growing businesses in the area.

ECU evolved organically for Jackie.  Soon after leaving her position as Vice President of Marketing and Advertising with an advertising firm,  Jackie was offered the opportunity to do consulting work on a marketing project.  More projects followed,  and eventually Jackie realized the potential for great success working for herself.  Inspired,  she created ECU.  Strangely,  it was creating a clear plan for ECU that was her single greatest challenge as a small business owner;  Jackie put a great deal of energy and thought into defining the specific services ECU would provide and how it would fit into the already-crowded marketing and advertising field. By spending the time to really get to know and understand her potential client base,  Jackie was able to identify needs that ECU could meet.

As Vice President of the region and chapter and a member of the Mid-Atlantic Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors,  Jackie has had the opportunity to touch and help a lot of her peers by championing new,  Chamber-wide and community programs.  In addition,  as a member of the Chamber,  Jackie and ECU have enjoyed the change to meet and network with other business owners,  access to potential clients,  and opportunities for learning and professional development.

The U.S. Small Business Administration has recognized ECU as an 8(a),  Woman-owned (WOSB),  and Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB).   In the Commonwealth of Virginia,  ECU is Small,  Women- and Minority-owned (SWaM) certified and a Minority Business Enterprise.
